Description
Doni's 1932 illustration is dedicated to May 1st - International Workers' Day - and symbolically depicts a global class confrontation. In the center, against the backdrop of a bright sun, two radically different worlds are presented: on one side is the mass of the proletariat armed for battle with red flags, while on the other side is a bourgeois in a top hat representing capitalism and fascism, desperately trying to fend them off with a machine gun. The drawing shows that this fierce and final confrontation will unconditionally end with the victory of labor and socialism.
